audiometry testing

Audiometry Testing

Audiometry is an essential biological effect monitoring for workers who are exposed to noise. It measures a person's capabilities to hear at different frequencies, but commonly examined frequencies are 500 Hz - 8000 Hz. This test will help us evaluate their hearing impairement.

There are 2 types of audiometric testing :

  • 1. Screening / Mobile Audiometry
  • 2. Diagnostic Audiometry

  • Both of these procedures are essentially the same in principles but differs in term of depth of testing. Usually workers will be undergoing Screening Audiometry first and if hearing abnormalities are detected, they will undergo Diagnostic Audiometry.
